Gadget watch....

If it boasts "new features" or "latest technology" or "upgraded" on the packaging, then tear me away at your peril. And if it wasn't for the fact that my wife constantly reminds me that we have a mortgage to pay, then I fear much more of our disposable income would be funnelled into my gadget habit.

I'm now telling myself its not a Gadget Habit its a  Digital Lifestyle......

Slim Devices Transporter......Transporter is being billed as the world's first network music player for lovers of pure sound.Slim Devices said Transporter's DAC is of a higher quality than those used even in expensive CD players, resulting in better audio performance. Flac and Wav are the favoured formats of many digital audiophiles because they retain all the information on a CD when converted or transferred into digital or non-physical form.

Slim Devices SqueezeBox 3......This neat and stylish device enables you to stream digital music, both stored tracks and Internet radio, over the air from your computer to a hi-fi. If you've been hanging back from joining the media-streaming revolution, it could be the gizmo that brings you onboard. Do yourself a favor: if you've been using your computer to listen to music for the past year, get out of that habit and get into Squeezebox.

The iPod Nano......Call it astonishing. Unbelievable. Impossible, even. Then pick it up and hold it in your hand. Take in the brilliant color display. Run your thumb around the Click Wheel. Put on the earbuds and turn up your music. That's when everything becomes clear...it's an iPod..

Full-featured iPod that holds 1,000 songs yet is thinner than a standard #2 pencil and less than half the size of competitive players. The iPod nano features an ultra-portable, lightweight design with a gorgeous color screen, Compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.4 or Windows XP and just what the wife wanted....

My new shinny white PSP....Live Like the white Nano, Sony has followed suit with an ice white version of its PSP. The uber-bright handheld will be available as part of a new value pack to be released in the UK in 2006, the little white wonder also coming with a soft case, wrist strap, remote control and headphones - all colour-coordinated to match the console. Typical me, now have one....put that tougne back in.....

Mini Mac....Live the digital life in stylish simplicity. Just 6.5 inches square and 2 inches tall, Mac mini provides what you need to have more fun with your music, photos and movies right out of the box. And it boasts a miniscule price to match: Mac mini starts £399.

Behold the Mini Mac!

I've got one on order, now all I need is a "Mac for Dummies" book.

Shuttle's... latest chassis is the i-Series, which makes its debut with the SB86iBased on Intel's Balanced Technology eXtended (BTX) form factor, the SB86i could usher in a new standard in small form factor layout and cooling. And, of course, style.

  • This exceptional computer delivers whisper quiet cooling through optimized in-line airflow. The i915G-based mainboard offers all the latest technology including Socket 775, PCI-Express, 7.1 channel Audio, S-ATA and delivers excellent performance and reliability for all kind of application.

  • Sony Playstation Portable... The PSP design certainly looks a league ahead of rival products, such as Nokia's new N-Gage and Nintendo's hugely popular GameBoy Advance. Of course, this is simply the concept design, and the final result may be less sleek, depending on such factors as ergonomics and manufacturing costs.

With high-quality graphics processing capability equivalent to that of PlayStation 2, in addition to rich stereo sound, PSP offers the joy of playing full-scale 3D-CG games and viewing high resolution video images anytime, anywhere. Equipped with a wireless LAN feature, PSP enables users to connect to the Internet through access points, making it possible for users to download game characters and content and also to play games on-line with families, friends and on-line community members.

  • Sony HDD + DVD Recorder "PSX"... - Yes I'm still waiting for the "all in one" PSX gadget from Sony. The latest versions, released in Japan on on Thursday, September 16 2004 are the new PSX DESR-7500 & PSX DESR-5500.

New Sony PSX DESR-7500 Sony announced two new Sony PSX game consoles with DVD player and hard-drive.
The two new Sony PSX Game Console/DVD player and digital video recorders feature either a 160GB hard drive (DESR-5500) or a 250GB hard drive (DESR-7500).

Soul II Soul

John Legend - Get Lifted.  Everybody is talking about John Legend. He's worked with everyone from Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Eve, Common, the Black Eyed Peas to Kanye West. But he says he's most proud of his contribution on Lauryn Hill's "Everything is Everything," on the Grammy winning The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Check out his skills on the video for his new single, "Used to Love Her," co-written and produced by Kanye West.

Jill Scott - Beautifully Human: Words & Sounds 2. If you like your music smooth, jazzy & fresh this is a must buy for 2004. Ms Scott returns with the masterful Beautifully Human: Words & Sounds Vol. 2 The album features a collection of lush and hypnotic songs that will make you want to fall in love, live life, and be a better person all at the same time. Don't miss "An Evening with Jill Scott" on 21-Nov-04 @ Carling Academy Brixton

Amel Larrieux - Bravebird: Bravebird is a timeless classic, Amel's solo effort fuses R&B, soul, hip-hop, jazz, and folk, defying pigeonholing. My fav ? Damn, must be for Real.

Rhian Benson - Gold Coast: Rhian Benson is a new African/British artist with a distinctive mix of R&B/soul, jazz and reggae. Say how I feel is the track, also find the remixes if you can.

Vivian Green - A Love Story: Philly soul sister and onetime Jill Scott backing singer, Ms Green writes her own songs and credibly draws on the rich tapestry of gospel and R&B, and she can play. The tune that stands out for me is Emotional Rollercoaster.

Arsenal blurb

"Game On"

Arsenal V Spurs, Saturday 29th Oct 2005 game on !

"One Minute"

"North London 49ers'"

Arsenal's 49-match unbeaten run finally came to an end in a bruising encounter during which no quarter was given and none was asked for.

Pub arguments continued well after the final whistle, with Arsenal fans accusing Rooney of diving, an accusation that provoked a terse response from United fans.

Van Nistelrooy faces a three match ban after a cynical challenge on Ashley Cole and clearly, Rio Ferdinand should have been off for barging Freddie Ljungberg who was almost clear on goal, while it is astonishing that both the referee and his assistant missed Van Nistelrooy's challenge on Cole. The Neville's also teamed up to do a hatchet job on Jose Antonio Reyes.

"D-Day"

Arsenal against Man Utd, Sunday 24th Oct 2004 - 4.05pm game on !

Perhaps the most significant match of the Premiership season so far, well that is until we play Chelsea in December. The Arsenal have made the best start ever by any team to a Premiership campaign. If we beat Man Utd it would give us a 14 point lead over our arch rivals, but a win for United would reduce the deficit to within eight points.

"One Minute"

On 26th May 1989 Arsenal went to Liverpool needing a 2-0 win to clinch the title. Because of fixture congestion and the Hillsborough disaster, the fixture had been put back to the end of the season, after Liverpool had won the FA Cup.

Steve McMahon uttered the words "One Minute" to re-assure his team-mates that the 1989 League Championship was a mere 60 seconds away from Liverpool's' grasp. What he didn't know was that within 2 minutes of those words,
Michael Thomas snatched the Championship from Liverpool two minutes into injury time of the very last game of the season with his goal. That goal levelled both teams on games won, lost and drawn with goal difference for both teams being equal. Arsenal however claimed the Championship on more goals scored, from that day I became an Arsenal supporter, RESULT !
